Carpet Cleaning - F A Q
Why should I clean my
carpet?
Bio
contaminants, volatile organic compounds,
combustion products, asbestos, dust mites,
chemical contamination, outdoor pollutants,
pesticides, allergens, grease and oil
deposits, sand, soil, food particles,
bacteria, and a host of other really gross
stuff will make its way into your carpet.
Quite simply, your carpet acts like a sink.
It collects and filters all of the above
mentioned contaminants. This collection and
filtering process traps these contaminants
within your carpet, which in turns cleans
the air you breathe and allows you to live a
healthier life. Hard surface floors may
allow contaminants to "roam" throughout the
indoor environment.
But like any other filter, your carpet needs
to be cleaned on a regular basis, or it will
lose its filtering ability. If these
contaminants are in your home, they could be
contributing to your family's health and
allergy problems.
How often should you clean your carpets?
The obvious answer to that question is
whenever they are dirty. However, some
carpets may not look dirty because of light
use. We recommend that to maintain the life
and look of your carpet that you clean them
at least once a year. However, if your
carpets need to be cleaned more often than
that due to heavy traffic, spots or other
spills then clean them as needed.
How safe are your cleaning and protection
methods?
We use only the safest, most effective
technology to assure not only your
satisfaction, but your safety as well. We do
not use any harsh chemicals nor will we
leave any irritant residues.

Can
you get rid of pet odor?
Pet odor is a very common problem that could be much
more complex than on first impression. Pet urine can
easily soak through the backing of the carpet into
the padding underneath. In more severe cases the
urine can penetrate into the sub-floor beneath the
padding. This creates a problem that is
multi-layered. urine neutralizer may be applied.
In the most severe cases, replacement of the carpet
padding, treatment of the under-side of the carpet
and the sub-floor may be required.
How
often do you recommend you have your carpet
professionally cleaned?
Frequency of cleaning should be determined based on
household conditions. We recommend a professional
cleaning at least every 12 months. (Professional
steam cleaning/ hot water extraction at least every
18-24 months is required to maintain your texture
retention warranty).
Why should air ducts be
cleaned?
Studies have shown that indoor air can be 2 to 5
times MORE polluted than outside air. Most
disposable filters remove about 10% of these
pollutants allowing 90% to enter the air system,
even during the construction of a new home. The
pollutants contain dust, pollen, mold spores, animal
dander and much more. These materials collect in the
furnace, air conditioner and duct surfaces, just as
they do on the furniture and floor surfaces. The
furniture and floor are cleaned regularly but the
duct surfaces are hidden from view and can only be
reached by specialized duct cleaning equipment.
These pollutants can migrate out into the room
again, or become a food source for mold and
bacteria, which can thrive in this dark comfortable
environment from high humidity or moisture from the
air conditioner or humidifiers. Biological growth
can release mold spores or toxins into the air
system.
How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?
Once an air system is thoroughly cleaned, it should
remain clean for 3 to 7 years if properly maintained
and a high arrestance filter is installed. A
standard disposable filter only stops about 10% of
the airborne contaminates, allowing 90% of the dust
in the room to flow back into the air system. To
maintain protection against biological growth, an
EPA registered biocide should be applied every 6 to
12 months by a qualified Duct Cleaning Professional.
Why
is tile and grout cleaning important?
Grout creates harmful health effects if not cleaned
properly as harmful microbes, dirt, grease, stains,
and mold can accumulate in it resulting in it
resulting in foul odors and deteriorating indoor air
quality. Substances penetrate the tiny grout pores
making thorough cleaning extremely difficult.
Sometimes the surface looks clean but it contains
unseen filth that not only affects the brightness of
the floor but can also lead to grout cleaning and
maintenance problems. Tile and grout cleaning
becomes more difficult and challenging the longer
the floor is neglected. Grout is difficult to clean
and requires extra care and special tile and grout
cleaning equipment; unclean tiles and stained grout
mars the entire appearance of the flooring.
Mold, mildew, dirt, and lime scale between the
joints of the wall tiles particularly in washrooms
can cause grout sealing problems and unhealthy
conditions. According to the National Restaurant
Association, dirty bathrooms in food service
establishments create such a negative impression on
patrons that they are likely never to return to the
restaurant. The impression is the kitchen is most
likely dirty if the bathroom is not maintained well.
Therefore, restaurants' revenue and profits can be
negatively impacted. Unclean tile and grout can also
cause many health hazards or health problems due to
the continuous invasion of microorganisms on the
surface, resulting in various allergies and serious
diseases.
